This Privacy Policy provides you with important information about how Social Brand Insights manages your personal information. We prioritize your privacy, and safeguarding your privacy is fundamental to our business.

This policy applies to your use of our website, mobile app, other online platforms, and contact centers.

We recommend reviewing this policy periodically, as it may be updated. Any changes will be posted on our website, and we will make reasonable efforts to notify customers of significant updates before they become effective.

This policy may be supplemented by additional consents you provide and any terms and conditions you agree to when purchasing products or services, or participating in Social Brand Insights campaigns, engaging with any kind of content on your own consideration.

Information collected and the reasons for its collection

Personal information is collected and used in order to comply with the requirements of applicable Canadian, provincial and foreign countries’ laws, regulations, policies and decisions.

Personal information is also collected and used in order to improve the Company’s service offering, fulfill customers’ and potential customers’ requests and provide answers and solutions to queries and concerns.

Personal information may be collected and used by the Company in order to improve the content and efficiency of its website. Additionally, as a service and as a convenience, the Company’s website may contain links to other sites. While the Company tries to link only to sites that share its commitment to protecting the privacy of its customers, the Company accepts no liability or responsibility for the content of or the privacy practices of these other sites. Customers are encouraged to use caution when accessing other websites and to review the privacy policies of such other sites.

We use software programs to monitor network traffic and identify unauthorized attempts to change information, or damage our systems. Website and website analytical tools can automatically collect certain information about a visit to a website, including the visitor’s Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses are unique numbers assigned by Internet Service Providers (ISP) to all devices used to access the Internet. Web servers automatically log the IP addresses of visitors to their sites. The IP address, on its own, may not identify an individual. However, in certain circumstances, it could be used to identify an individual using the site. For this reason, particularly when combined with other data automatically collected when a visitor requests a web page. This information can include the name of the page you visited and the date and time of your visit.

Personal information from emails or completed forms is collected according to the Privacy Act.

Consent

The disclosure of personal information to the Company implies the customer’s consent to the collection, storage and processing of such information including electronic information by the Company. However, other than the uses more fully detailed in this Privacy Policy, the Company will not collect, retain, disclose or otherwise use a customer’s personal information without obtaining his or her express consent. Nonetheless, certain exceptions such as emergency situations or legal requirements may apply to the foregoing.

Subject to possible contractual restrictions or regulatory requirements, the customer may change or withdraw its consent by contacting the Company’s Privacy Officer. For administrative purposes, the Company will require that the customer provide reasonable notice for any such change or withdrawal. If contractual or regulatory requirements impose an obligation on the Company to collect certain personal information which the customer is unwilling to give, the Company may not, as a result, be able to perform its obligations to the customer.

Limiting collection of personal information

The collection of personal information is limited to that which is necessary for the Company to provide appropriate services to its customers.

Limiting Use, Retention and Disclosure.

Personal information is used, retained or disclosed only for those purposes for which it is collected. Personal information is retained only as long as necessary for the fulfilment of those purposes, as long as the customer maintains interest to the company’s media, products, services, and/or content or in order to comply with the law, whichever is longer, after which time it is destroyed, erased or made anonymous.

The Company shares, on a “need to know” basis, its customers’ personal information if applicable with its employees, contractors, consultants and other parties such as affiliates and third party companies which assist the Company in complying with its undertakings, responsibilities and obligations towards its customers. The Company tries to deal with only those contractors, consultants and other third parties who comply with privacy legislation; however, the Company makes no representation or guarantee that such parties do in fact comply with privacy legislation.

Access to and accuracy of personal information

The Company uses reasonable commercial efforts to ensure that a customer’s personal information is accurate. Subject to applicable legal or regulatory restrictions, a customer has the right to verify the accuracy of such personal information and to correct errors. The customer may do so by contacting the Company’s Privacy Officer. The Company’s Privacy Officer may request specific information from the customer in order to confirm his or her identity prior to granting access to personal information. The Company may also ask for documentation to support a request for any correction to or removal of personal information.

The Company will respond to all requests for access within thirty days or as otherwise required by law. If the Company needs to extend the time, or has to refuse the request, the Company will advise the customer of the reasons, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions.

Safeguards

The Company has put in place procedures to safeguard and secure the information it collects or that it receives directly from its customers against unauthorized use, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, information provided to the Company through electronic means is not necessarily secure. The information that can be considered as sensitive should be provided to the Company either by mail or telephone.

Employees are instructed to use personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws and regulations. Any misuse of personal information may be subject to disciplinary action.

Changes to Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Company and is in effect as of June, 2024. The Company may amend this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be effective from the date they are posted. The Company collects, retains, discloses and uses personal information in accordance with its most current Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy does not create or confer upon any individual any rights or impose upon the Company any obligations in addition to the rights or obligations imposed by Canada’s federal and provincial privacy laws, as applicable. In the case of inconsistency between this Privacy Policy and the applicable privacy laws of the Canadian federal and provincial governments, this Privacy Policy shall be interpreted in respect of that particular situation in order to comply with the aforementioned applicable laws.

Cookies

What are cookies and similar technologies?

The tools that we and third parties use include, but not limited to:

  • Browser cookies. Cookies are small text files that websites send to your computer or other connected device to identify your browser or to store information or settings. They can store information about your preferences and activities, such as login information, shopping cart items, language preferences and pages visited. Media

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Embedded content redirecting to the third party websites, applications, platforms, systems, AI and (or)other existing or emerging technology require personal discretion of the user during the engagement with the links to the third parties.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
